Year 2008
28 mathletes from 12 countries took part in the 3rd Mental Calculation
World Cup on 1 July 2008 in Leipzig.
It was held at the
Unversity of Leipzig as part of the "Summer
of Science" festival, the central event in the Year of Mathematics,
as announced by the Federal Ministry for Research.
World Champion 2008 is Alberto
Coto (Spain). Jan van Koningsveld (Germany) was runner-up and Jorge
Arturo Mendoza Huertas (Peru) finished 3rd.
