- The longest distance that a barrel has been rolled by hand were 666 km [414
mi] by a group of 21 from Nuttlar (Germany). In June 1981,
they rolled a barrel containing 50 litres of beer on a round
course measuring 8.1 km.
- The longest distance that a barrel containing 100 litres has been rolled
by hand were 136 km
[84.5 mi]. The team members were students from Altenburg
(Germany): Hartmut Vogel, Jurij Schneider, Udo Reinhold,
Harry Fürch, Lothar Mätzhold, Detlef Bergmann, Torsten
Kondziora, Lothar Baumann and Dietmar Rudolf.
- The longest distance rolling a barrel (30 litres) by bicycle (the barrel
was moved as a "bike trailer") were 974.4 km [605.5 miles]
by a the team "AGB
Elbröwer" (Sebastian Kubitz, Gottfried Hage, Christoph
Hage, Philipp Grotsch and Peter Boloz, all Germany), from
Bad Schandau to Cuxhaven (Germany).
- The longest distance rolling and pushing a barrel using a wheelbarrow-like
construction were 1135 km [705 mi] by a team of 45
from Albig, Germany. in 21 days 3 hours and 10 minutes, they
pushed an empty 600 litres wine barrel from Barmstedt to
Munich (Germany) from 15 August - 5 September 1981.

- A metal barrel, containing 163.7 litres (36 UK gallons) of
liquid, must be used, and any attempt must be made on a flat
tarmac road surface.
- The barrel must be moving at all times.
- It is to be rolled by a team of six, with two pushing at
any one time. Once the event has begun no substitution is
allowed.
- The event must be made on a pre-measured course that is
perfectly level.

Volker Schmidt, Günter Hauers from Langewiese bei Winterberg
(Germany) rolled a barrel containing 100 litres of beer over a
distance of 50 km in 8:33 hours from Krombach to Bad Berleburg
(Germany) in October 1981.

- This barrel rolling record is for a team of 10, with only
one person pushing at any one time. No substitutes are
permitted. A maximum of two people may drop out. If a third
person has to, the attempt is invalidated.
- The barrel must weigh at least 63.5 kg [140 lbs] and any
attempt is to be made on a flat tarmac road surface.
- The record is for the distance covered in 24 hours, so it
may be best to use a measured circular course and go over
the same route the required number of times.
- The barrel must be moving at all times.
- It is permitted to cushion the barrel with something such
as conveyor belt rubber on either end to reduce the noise.

600 METRES, WITH STICKS
At the World Championship in Chodova Plana (Czech Republic) an
empty 100 litres beer keg has to be moved over a distance of 600
metres with the aid of two sticks (length 1 m) by a team of
two.The record holders are Vinichuk and Volodymyr Shumyn
(Ukrain) who covered the distance in 2:35 minutes on 22 June
2019.
