DRAG QUEEN ROCK BAND, TEMPTRESS, FILES FOR GUINNESS RECORD October 31, 1997, New York City, NY - What do Michael Jackson, The Rolling Stones, U2, and Temptress have in common? They've all played in front of millions, but Temptress has claimed the record for the largest live performance by a rock band. Billed as "The World's Only All-Male Girl Band," Temptress has filed with the Guinness Book of World Records for the title. The record was obtained in New York City on October 31, 1997, Halloween night, having performed in fishnets and lingerie in front of ABC Capital Cities, Jacob Javitz Center, Columbus Circle, 57th Street from 8th to 5th Avenue, The Howard Stern Show, Radio City Music Hall, Carnegie Hall, Times Square, Virgin Megastore, Madison Square Garden, Penn Plaza, and finishing with the Greenwich Village Parade. New York City Police estimate that the days' parade attendance was 2.1 to 2.3 million people, with Temptress being the sole live performance of the day. With all locations combined Temptress performed a fixed set over 35 times, spanning 13 hours and 27 minutes (starting at 9:07AM and commencing at 10:34 PM). The days total attendance has been estimated to be between 2.4 and 2.6 million people.
