THE RULES

(If you want to break a record that is published in a record book or governed by an international authorithy, there may be other or additional rules. See here for more information.)
  1. The records are for the greatest weight benchpressed in a given time.
  2. Breaks can be taken at the discretion of the record breaker, but the clock remains running during such breaks.
  3. The weight to lift can be chosen by the record breaker. It can be changed during the attempt whenever the record breaker wishes. For the replacement of the weight plates, assistance by other persions is permitted.
  4. For team records, the weights pressed by the team members are added. No substitutions are allowed.
  5. A documentation should contain:
    • Logbook of repetitions and weights.
    • A video of the whole attempt (allowing to judge whether the weight has been pressed up correctly.)
    • Statements of two witnesses who have counted the number of repetitions and have supervised the weight of the bar.
    • The equipment (and in particular the bench-press shirts) must comply to the International Powerlifting Federation rules.
